Deep Foundation Construction

  • The position’s purpose is to provide project management and client communication, from the initial contact and proposal/planning phase, into project kick-off, through project completion and closure. This includes financial management aspects of each project and ensuring project expenses and A/P are accurate and submitted on time, as well as providing follow-up and communication for your client A/R collections. The full-time position requires a self-motivated person and is a hybrid of in-office, in-the-field, and remote.

    Our target clients are general contractors and land development firms who work on commercial and residential sites, including new construction, design-build, and restoration. Our current focus as deep foundation construction providers is various micropile applications, support of excavation, load testing, helical piles, and timber piles. The salary range ($95-135k) is based on experience P.E. licenses/states and industry qualifications.

  • • Receive, make calls, and provide professional and prompt customer service for existing and new clients.

    • Calculate take-offs, create accurate written estimates and submit them to our client promptly.

    • Coordinate and manage project tasks, including permitting, utility markout, order project materials, project-specific supplies, equipment, and tools, etc.

    • Provide clear and concise work order requests and provide ongoing updated change orders as needed.

    • Provide direction and communication to Site Forman and compile pre-construction project details for a pre-con discussion in advance of project kickoff.

    • Take the lead to problem solve with site foreman and communicate with the client to support on-demand and in-the-moment decision making on project hold-ups.

    • Track quantities installed and materials used to ensure budgets and contractual conditions of the agreed services and our production are fulfilled.

    • Work with the foreman to document project details, expendables, and all billing-related needs.

    • Ensure all project details, pictures, and field notes are compiled into the e-folder for project archiving.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients and teaming partners.

    • Seek to develop business opportunities and meet new potential referrals by networking in person and virtually.

    • ConstructConnect and BuildingConnected to find appropriate and interesting projects to bid on.

    • Slack for interoffice communication with in-the-field employees as well as office personnel.

    • LinkedIn and other social platforms for virtual networking and sharing Shore articles and content.

    • Zoom (as needed) for weekly Look Ahead Meeting and other remote office needs.

    • Preferred BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or similar focus of study

    • Minimum 5 years of experience with estimating geotechnical deep foundational construction and support of excavation projects, field experience is great

    • Ability to take the lead to problem solve and assist with on-demand, in-the-moment decision-making

    • Firm understanding of soil and rock mechanics, ability to read geotechnical reports, varying bid plans, and engineering specs to be competitive and innovative in our bidding approach

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present information in technical and non-technical terms

    • Ability and desire to work on multiple projects in various stages of completion

    • OSHA training certifications are a plus

    • EIT or ability to get PE is great
