HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

The purpose of the heavy diesel mechanic position is to maintain, diagnose and repair construction company vehicles, machines, tools, and equipment, in the shop, on-site, or on the road using a company service vehicle. Work is performed as a team with other mechanics and Shore Systems Group personnel.

Our shop is located in Monmouth County, Millstone Township (Clarksburg area), New Jersey. Just a short drive of about 5 minutes from exit 16 on i-195.

We are only minutes away from Six Flags Great Adventure and less than 15 minutes from the NJ Turnpike.


 
    • Perform preventative maintenance on schedule and perform ordinary and extraordinary repairs in a safe and efficient manner.

    • Prioritize DOT and safety defects, set a plan of action promptly for driver safety and DOT compliance.

    • Order parts and service kits as needed, ensure proper inventory of spare bulbs, wiper blades, fluids, etc.

    • Initiate and manage outsourcing services, such as on-the-road tire repairs, heavy towing, etc.

    • Daily review and update of Whip Around (app) Inspections and Faults using company tablet or computer.

    • Communicate with the office using Slack (app) to update fleet status and schedule preventative maintenance services.

    • Daily submission to Accounting Department of invoices, packing slips or receipts for purchases.

    • Keep shop and work area clean and free from hazards.

    • Experienced mechanic who can work independently

    • Current industry certification and/or working knowledge of engines, pumps, hydraulic systems in trucks Class 6-8, heavy equipment, and small engines and electrical systems

    • Responsible driving history, CDL A preferred

    • Must have the ability to read, write, and follow written and oral English instructions

    • Willingness to learn company inspection and maintenance program (Whip Around), using a phone, company tablet, or computer (you choose)

    • Ability to weld is preferred

    • Furnish your own tools to perform preventative maintenance through major overhaul

    • Hourly rate based on experience, skills, certifications, and license status

    • Company-paid industry certifications; company support in obtaining CDL
